Now that you’ve passed you Practical Driving Test and earned your full Driver’s Licence the learning doesn’t stop here! You will learn even more about driving in the years to come, as there is no substitute for experience. It can take up to 100,000 miles of driving to become TRULY experienced!
Unfortunately, as a new driver you are statistically more likely to be involved in a crash than any other drivers. This is a fact, there’s no getting away from it.
However, I can help you reduce the risk of becoming another crash statistic by putting you through the Pass Plus driving course. Pass Plus is a series of driving learning modules designed to make you a much more aware and skillful driver which, when completed, can also benefit you by way of reduced car insurance premiums.
The six modules of the Pass Plus driving couse are as follows:
Module 1 – Town Driving
Driving in towns is likely to be the most common form of driving you do, it is also highly awkward, as there are so many possible distractions, hazards and possibility for things to go wrong. I will teach you how to be confident and much more alert when driving in town to reduce your risks.
Module 2 – All Weather Driving
The British weather is highly tempremental and you need to know how to drive under the different possible conditions. I will teach you about the tactics to employ when negotiating with rain, snow, ice and fog to name a few, so that you are comfortable whatever the weather throws at you.
Module 3 – Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads
‘A’ roads and ‘B’ roads outside of town present different challenges then those in built-up areas. As well as being faster, you can be confronted with farm or other slow-moving traffic, blind corners, fast-moving motorcycles, walkers and ramblers – the list goes on. I will teach you to be safe and alert at all times when on the quicker roads between towns.
Module 4 – Night Driving
Driving at night is dramatically different to daytime driving and can be daunting, as you may not have driven at night until after you passed your test. I will teach you how to have an extra level of vigilance to keep you and other road users safe when it’s dark.
Module 5 – Dual Carriageways
Travelling on a dual carriageway requires a few different skills than driving on slower roads. The traffic is moving much faster and you will encounter more Heavy Goods Vehicles. I will teach you about lane discipline, watching road signs, anticipating other road users actions and more to make you a better motorist.
Module 6 – Motorways
Carrying on from the skills learnt in the Dual Carriageway module come the Motorway module. Some people are frightened by Motorways when they needn’t be – they’re the safest raods we have! I will teach you excellent awareness, use of mirrors, anticipation, lane discipline and calmness to help you driving on motorways.
